Hello Michigan!

As most of you know Renee Baird is stepping down from the directorship position. I believe that despite many hurdles she has faced through her tenure she has done an outstanding job and served the MI membership well. While I know that Renee is going to miss this position, she is also taking steps to continue advancing her career and needs to be able to focus on that right now. Please join me in praying for her continued success as she starts new chapters! Renee will still be present to help ensure a smooth transition to our new director.

While we are certainly sad to lose Renee as the director, we are so excited to welcome someone who we feel will be a great fit. We had a lot of great candidates and we appreciate all of them. Some of those candidates will be helping alongside our new director in the future as well. Without further ado

we welcome Megan Byrne as our new IBRA MI State Director! She is taking over the position immediately and will begin communicating plans for the remainder of the season asap. Please find a letter from Megan introducing herself. We will have some more announcements soon so stay tuned.

Hi everyone! My name is Megan Byrne, and I am excited to be taking on the role of Michigan IBRA State Director. I was born and raised on a beef and feeder calf farm in Marne, MI, where I grew up riding horses with my siblings who still compete together today. I am blessed with a wonderful, supportive husband Jake and a 2 year old cowgirl who is already gearing up for her first season on her very first horse!

I have been the horse superintendent for Berlin Fair for the past 12 years, serving as the chair of the horse committee and rodeo committee. I also produced our local speed series each summer along with IBRA jackpots.

As the Michigan State Director, I hope to promote and educate IBRA throughout the state by adding more IBRA sanctioned events at several new arenas across the state, boost our already sanctioned arenas and work closely with the state representatives and the amazing members Michigan has!
